Convention Policies

Code of Conduct

 At HaruCon, we wish to ensure a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all attendees, staff, vendors, and guests. By attending this convention, all participants agree to abide by the rules outlined in this CoC. Attendees are expected to follow common sense rules of public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Violations of the CoC may result in the forfeiture of event access badges, permanent removal from the event premises, and/or termination of staff or volunteer positions within the convention.

Anti-Harassment

 Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Discrimination or harassment based on gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, stalking, or inappropriate physical contact.
  • Offensive comments, gestures, or imagery, including those of a sexual or discriminatory nature.
  • Intimidation, threats, or any form of verbal or physical abuse.

If you experience or witness harassment, please report it to a convention staff member immediately. We take all reports seriously and will act promptly to address the situation.

Dress Code

 Costumes and attire should be appropriate for a family-friendly environment. This includes:

  • No nudity is permitted. All attendees are required to have total coverage of genitals, buttocks, and nipples.
  • Nude body suits are prohibited.
  • No overly revealing clothing or costumes.
  • No clothing may contain any wording or images that can be deemed offensive, racist, obscene, or derogatory.
  • Costumes must be able to fit through a standard 7' wide doorway.
  • Body paint is allowed only on non-private areas of the body.
  • Footwear is required at all times for safety reasons.
  • Any item of clothing or costume can be deemed inappropriate by a convention staff member.

Violations of the dress code may result in being asked to change or leave the event.

Prop Policies

 For the safety of all attendees, the following rules apply to props:

  • All props must be inspected and approved at the prop check station before entering the convention area.
  • No real weapons or functional firearms are allowed. Prop weapons must be clearly marked as non-functional.
  • Metal props, sharp objects, and items that could be considered dangerous are prohibited.
  • Props should not exceed a reasonable size to prevent crowding or obstructing walkways.

Prohibited Items

 The following items are not permitted on convention premises:

  • Real weapons, including firearms, knives, and other sharp objects.
  • Illegal substances or paraphernalia.
  • Explosives, fireworks, or flammable materials.
  • Drones or other remote-controlled devices without prior approval.
  • Items deemed inappropriate or unsafe by convention staff.

Privacy Policy

 The following items are not permitted on convention premises:

  • Real weapons, including firearms, knives, and other sharp objects.
  • Illegal substances or paraphernalia.
  • Explosives, fireworks, or flammable materials.
  • Drones or other remote-controlled devices without prior approval.
  • Items deemed inappropriate or unsafe by convention staff.
